Enrolling and Registration Procedures

Step # 1 - Admission

Complete the admission process in the Admissions and Records Office as soon as you decide to go to college. For instructions see Applying for Admission

Step # 2 - Testing

College Credit Programs - Florida regulations require a placement exam score before registration for all students who intend to take college credit courses. If you have taken the ACT, SAT, or CPT, send a copy of your scores to the Admissions and Records Office before registration. Test scores over two years old are not valid. Non-degree and transfer students who have completed their required English and Math classes will not be required to take the test. Verification of courses and grades may be required. If you do not have a valid test score contact the Testing Center at (850) 718-2284 for testing dates and information.

Workforce Development Programs - If you plan to enter a workforce development program you may be asked to come to the college for an interview and/or testing. Admissions and Records will refer you to the Testing/Success Center for TABE testing, if required. Contact the Testing Center at (850) 718-2284 for the TABE testing schedule and cost.

Step # 3 - Advising

Once you have completed the admission process and received your acceptance notice, you will be mailed a specific date and time for advising and registration. Your adviser will help with course selection and class scheduling. Visit Student Services for career and curriculum information.

Step # 4 - Computer Registration

After you have met with your adviser and he/she has signed your Registration Form, your classes will be entered in the computer. You will be given the pink copy of your Registration Form, please maintain this for your records.

Step # 5 - Payment of Fees and Verification of Classes

You must go by the Cashier/Business Office to pay or indicate how your fees will be paid. No registration will be complete until all fees and tuition have been paid in full. It is the student's responsibility to alert the cashier of any scholarship or financial aid awards at the time of registration. Your payment options are cash, check, credit card, financial aid grant, scholarship, VA, or other aid programs. Failure to pay your fees will result in the cancellation of your classes and registration. The Fee Schedule and the Refund Policy are listed in the class schedule and college catalog.

The Cashier will give you a white registration receipt, which lists your classes. Compare this to the pink copy of your Registration Form, they should list the same courses. Check course prefix, letters, numbers and most importantly, section number, as well as total hours. You are registered in the courses listed on the white receipt. If the information does not agree with your pink copy, you must go back to the registration terminal or your adviser and have the problem corrected immediately.

Step # 6 - Student I.D.

All students must obtain a photo I.D. from Student Services. New students will have a Student I.D. made after paying their fees and receiving a registration receipt.

Step # 7 - Parking Decals

If you drive a vehicle on campus, you must purchase a parking decal. This decal must be displayed on the left side of the rear bumper of automobiles and in a visible spot on motorcycles. Failure to do so may result in a citation and fine as well as disciplinary action. Parking decals may be obtained at the Cashier/Business Office. You will need your vehicle registration and student I.D.

Step # 8 - Books

Take your Registration Receipt from the Cashier to the bookstore on the lower level of the Student Center for your textbooks. Bookstore personnel will assist you in selecting and purchasing the correct books. Keep both your Registration Receipt and bookstore cash register receipt. If you have to exchange a book later, you will need both. You can contact the campus bookstore at (850) 718-2258.

Step # 9 - First Class Meeting and Schedule Adjustments

You must attend the first meeting of each of your classes unless the instructor excuses you. Take your white registration receipt to your first class so the instructors can verify that you are in the correct section. If for any reason you have a problem with a class, see your adviser immediately while there is time to drop/add.

Drop/Add - You may drop or add classes during the drop/add period. Be sure you do not drop under 12 hours if you are receiving financial aid from a program that requires full-time enrollment.

Optional Steps

Financial Aid: Apply for grants, loans, scholarships, student work study and VA benefits by contacting the Financial Aid Office at (850) 718-2293, as soon as you decide to attend college. Completing your financial aid forms correctly and getting them in early directly affects the amount and types of financial assistance you receive. Remember you must apply in both the Admissions and Records Office and Financial Aid Office, they are two separate areas.
