Prerequisites and Courses of Study

RN to BSN*  Advising Guide

 

The following information is intended for students who earned their ADN (RN) degree from Chipola. RN graduates from other schools should contact Dr. Jayne Roberts at (850) 718-2209 or robertsj@chipola.edu for advising.

Applicants for the BSN must:

  • Have completed the AS degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution

  • Have completed the AA degree with all prerequisites from a Florida public institution (or 60 semester hours and satisfactory completion of Chipola's general education requirements including Gordon Rule and all prerequisites

  • Be a licensed RN (Florida, Alabama, or Georgia)

  • Have an overall 2.5 minimum GPA with a minimum grade of "C" in all Common Prequisites

  1. Common Prerequisites for ADN and/or BSN
  2. PSY 2012 or SYG 1000 is common prerequisite; however, PSY 2012 is required for Chipola's ADN program and is prerequisite to DEP 2004.
  3. BSC 2010 or 2011 taken as prerequisite for BSC 2094 will meet the requirement for "Additional Courses to Complete AA and Prerequisites for BSN."
