Sparks and Regnault lead Indians to season opening win, 4-2

Edmond Sparks hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning to put the Indians ahead for a good with a 4-2 win over Broward Community College. Sparks homer followed two Broward errors which led to the Indians first run, which Einar Atencio scored on a throwing error by the Seahawks. The Indians added their final run in the ninth inning on a two-out single by Moises Montero, which plated Carlos Moncrief. The Indians were led on the mound by sophomore Kyle Regnault. Regnault collected his first win of the year in relief, going four innings, giving up one hit, and striking out four. The Indians starting pitcher, Jason Townsend gave up two runs in two innings of work. Ben Jeffers also collected his first save of the year, striking out two batters in one inning of relief.
