Montero lifts Indians over Grand Rapids, 3-2

Chipola freshman Moises Montero hit a two-run walk off homerun to lift Chipola over Grand Rapids, 3-2, Thursday afternoon in Marianna. Montero also accounted for a run earlier in the game, scoring on a Brett Maxwell double. The ninth inning was set up by Marc Bourgeois' one-out pinch hit single. Bourgeois was taken out of the game for pinch-runner Drew Parker, which scored on the Montero homerun.
Chipola reliever David Travis received the win on the mound, going three innings, giving up only one hit and striking out two. Sophomore Jason Bailey held the Raiders at bay over 4.1 innings of work, keeping the Indians close. Travis and Bailey combined for 7.1 innings of scoreless relief.
