Kelvin Sampson and his Indiana Staff
have added one of the top juco wingmen in the country in Jamarcus
Ellis...
We caught up with Chipola CC, FL Head Coach
Greg Heiar this afternoon and he confirmed his star wing man 6-5
Jamarcus Ellis is headed to
Indiana.
"Jamarcus was not going to sign early," Coach Heier told
Hoopmasters. "But,
Indiana just stayed on him, it was their
relentless effort to see and recruit him that changed his mind."
"The good job Coach Sampson had done at Oklahoma with juco players
also was a big plus to Jamarcus," Coach Heier said.
Jamarcus Ellis averaged 13.5 points, 9.9
rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game for Chipola last winter. He will
be rated among the nation's top twenty juco talents this fall. He is
an excellent defender (2.5 steals an outing), and can flat out
explode to the hoop off the dribble or stick jumper inside the arc.
He chose
Indiana over interest from
Oklahoma,
Oklahoma State,
LSU,
Texas A&M, and
Iowa. |
