Assistant Coach Brian Steenhoek

Brian Steenhoek, a native of Pella, Iowa, was named assistant coach for the Chipola Men's Basketball program in the summer of 2008.  Prior to Chipola, he served as a Graduate Assistant for two years with the Drake Bulldogs under the helm of Keno Davis. 

In Steenhoek's first year at Drake, the Bulldogs experienced their first winning season in twenty years.  The following year, Drake compiled a 28-5 record on their way to becoming regular season and tournament champions in the Missouri Valley Conference.  The Bulldogs went on to play in the NCAA Tournament marking the first time since 1971. 

While at Drake, Steenhoek was primarily responsible for scouting, film exchange, academics, as well as coordinating the Bulldog Reading Program in surrounding elementary schools. 

Steenhoek is in the process of finishing his Masters Degree in Adult Learning, Performance, and Development.  Prior to Drake, Steenhoek graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Business Management.
