Assistant Coach Thomas Carr
carrt@chipola.eduFirst Season at Chipola
Thomas Carr is entering his first year as an
assistant coach at Chipola College. Carr's responsibilities include
recruiting coordinator, player development, strength and
conditioning, and
scouting.
Carr is a graduate of St. John's Jesuit High
School in Toledo, Ohio. During his playing career at SJJ, he never
had the gaudy numbers, but always seemed to find a way to impact the
game. His teams were some of the best to ever step on the court at
SJJ, and many of the players from those teams remain close today.
Following his graduation from St. John's in 2003, Thomas went on
to play a year of prep basketball at Hargrave Military Academy.
While there, his team was the top ranked prep team in the nation,
and finished the season as the 2003-2004 prep school National
Champions.
Thomas then went on to play basketball and
graduate from Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, NC. Having been a
captain his senior year, Carr also was second in the nation in 3
point field goals made, and had a knack for hitting big shots.
Pfeiffer’s frantic pace is one of a kind, therefore, Carr was able
to average 14pts per game while only playing 20 minutes a game.
After graduating from Pfeiffer with a degree in Sports
Management, Carr owned and operated two businesses with his former
coach and best friends. RecruitingRumors.com, the fastest growing
college basketball placement service in the country, and
RecruitingProductions.com are basketball related businesses that's
sole purpose is to help kids continue their dream of playing college
basketball at the next level.
Carr understands the importance
of athletics in kid's lives, and feels with the right direction and
determination all kids can compete at a high level. He feels the
relationships he has developed along the way is rendered useless,
unless he is able to provide kids the opportunities that he has been
so fortunate to receive.
