Tyler Nelson- tenor, is currently pursuing a Doctoral degree in Opera performance from Florida State University where he serves as a teaching assistant and studies with renowned tenor Stanford Olsen. Tyler holds a Bachelors and Masters degree in vocal performance from the University of Utah where he studied with Dr. Robert Breault and Lorna Haywood.   

He has been featured as a soloist throughout Europe and the United states while touring with the University of Utah A’cappella choir.  Tyler has also frequented the stage of Ohio Light Opera where he has performed roles in the world premier of two new works and is featured on the recently released recording of Maytime by Sigmund Romberg. 

Tyler enjoys a variety of vocal music and is equally at home on the operatic stage as well as in oratorio, operetta, and musical theater.  Tyler recently returned from a concert tour of Gordon Getty’s opera Plump Jack in Mazatlan, Mexico and is scheduled to perform Carmina Burana with the California and Reno Symphonies next year.  He is a vocal instructor at Florida State University and Chipola College.

 He and his wife, who is also pursuing a vocal degree at Florida State, are expecting their first child in July.
