Dr. Josh Martin received his doctoral and master’s degrees in piano performance from The University of Alabama. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in piano performance from Huntingdon College. Dr. Martin studied with Amanda Penick, Dr. Ronald Shinn, and Glenda Potts, and was a prize winner in numerous piano competitions, including the Alabama Federation of Music Teachers Piano Competition and the Alabama Music Teachers Association College Solo Competition. He has been a featured guest on Alabama PBS television program Pianist at Work, and solo recitalist at various colleges in Alabama.
Dr. Martin is a former music and piano instructor at The University of Alabama, University of Montevallo, Shelton State Community College, and Huntingdon College. He has been on faculty at Chipola College since 2006, teaching applied piano and numerous music classes, as well as accompanying the Chipola College Chamber Chorus, Chipola Theatre musicals, and Chipola Show Choir. Dr. Martin also directs the Music Through Performance program for pre-college music students and teachers.
