Cast and Crew
“Bus Stop” is set in a howling snowstorm with a busload of weary travelers holed
up at a roadside diner. A nightclub singer named Cherie (played by Marilyn
Monroe in the movie adaptation) has been kidnapped by a young cowboy who is
ready to sling her over his shoulder and carry her, kicking and screaming, down
the aisle. As a counterpoint to the romance, the cafe owner and the bus driver
at last find time to develop a friendship of their own; a middle age scholar
comes to terms with himself; and a young waitress also gets her first taste of
romance. |
