
Child Care
All classes offered must be prepaid in order to complete your registration. You can pay for your classes in one of four ways. You can pay in person by stopping in the Continuing Education Office during regular hours; mail in to Continuing Education, Chipola College, 3094 Indian Circle, Marianna, FL 32446; fax in to (850) 718-2472; or phone in to (850) 718-2395. The class count is based on registered students. If you have not paid for the class, you are not registered.
Introductory Child Care Training: Chipola College will offer the following mandatory training for Child Care Facility Personnel and Family Child Care Home:
PART I – all child care personnel are required to complete the following 30-clock-hours which are divided into five training modules:
Health, Safety & Nutrition – TBA, 7AM TO 3 PM - $34
Child Abuse & Neglect – TBA, 6 TO 10 PM - $17
Child Growth & Development – TBA, 7 AM TO 1 PM - $26
Behavioral Observation & Screening – TBA, 6 TO 9 PM - $26
Rules & Regulations (center) – TBA, 6 TO 9 PM - $26
Rules & Regulations (family) – TBA, 7 AM TO 1 PM - $26
PART II – all child care personnel are required to complete 10-clock-hours of training and can choose from the following modules:
Pre-School Appropriate Practices – Saturday, May 31, 2008 7 AM TO 5 PM - $43
Special Needs Appropriate Practices – TBA, 7 AM TO 5 PM - $43

Curriculum for Young Children:
This course is a study of the techniques of using language arts, science, art, social studies, math, and physical activities with young children with emphasis on interdisciplinary learning. Prerequisites is CHD 1220, Child Growth and Development. To register for clock hour classes for FCCPC equivalent, you must pre-register in the Office of Continuing Education. If you wish to receive academic credit, you must have completed an application for admission to Chipola College.
This class will meet on TBA from 6 - 9 pm. The registration fee is $191 (clock hours).

Internship:
This course provides on-the-job training toward the Child Development Associate Credential, Occupational Certificate, and Associate in Science Degree. The student will be assigned a qualified supervisor appointed by t e respective agency for which he/she works. Prerequisites are CHD 1430, Observing and Recording Child Behavior and CHD 2432, Curriculum for Young Children. To register for clock hour classes for FCCPC equivalent, you must pre-register in the Office of Continuing Education. If you wish to receive academic credit, you must have completed an application for admission to Chipola College.
This class will meet on Thursdays from 6 - 9 pm January 10 - April 24, 2008. The registration fee is $191 (clock hours).

Early Care & Education Administrative Overview:
This is the foundation course for administrators/directors of early care and education programs to obtain a credential as part of the minimum child care licensing standards. To register for clock hour classes for FCCPC equivalent, you must pre-register in the Office of Continuing Education. If you wish to receive academic credit, you must have completed an application for admission to Chipola College.
This class will meet on Tuesdays, January 8 - April 22, 2008, from 6 - 9 pm. The registration fee is $191 (clock hours).
