Sign Language

All classes offered must be prepaid in order to complete your registration.  You can pay for your classes in any of four ways.   You can pay in person by stopping in the Continuing Education Office during regular hours 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday; mail in to continuing Education, Chipola College, 3094 Indian Circle, Marianna, FL  32446; Fax in to (850) 718-2472; or phone   in to (850) 718-2395.  The class count is based on registered students.  If you have not paid for the class, you are not registered.

Sign Language I:

The beginning level includes a brief history of sign language; an introduction to the manual language used by the hearing impaired or deaf community and basic signs used by the deaf in daily communication.  This class will combine instruction and one-on-one experience with other class participants. 

This class will meet Tuesdays, February 6 - April 18, 2006, from 5 to 7 pm. The registration fee is $81.

Sign Language II:

This intermediate level of sign language continues all aspects of sign language as introduced in the previous level. Basic ASL concepts will be introduced and local hearing impaired individuals will be invited to the class to facilitate the learning experience as well as realizing a comfort zone in relation to communicating with the hearing impaired. .
