Persons who have received their certificates in Basic Corrections may also become certified in Basic Law Enforcement by completing the following course of study.
Estimated cost of the academy is approximately $1,214.00 and may be paid as each block of instruction is presented. Alabama and Georgia residents pay NO out of state tuition. Basic Academy requirements apply for participation in this program. Length of course is 457 hours. Certification of completion is issued at the end of the academy.
Passing of the State Law Enforcement Examination qualifies one as a certified Peace Officer in the State of Florida.
