Surveying & Mapping I: This course will introduce the student to the surveying trade, proper communication techniques in the field, safety procedures, basic methods of using a chain, basic methods of leveling techniques of surveying equipment, angle measuring, basic trade math, conversion methods and computations used in the trade, and related computer assisted drafting (420 Clock Hours)
Surveying & Mapping II: This course will introduce the student to methods of leveling techniques of surveying equipment to include transit and EDM (Electronic Distance Measuring) equipment used as a total station, measuring horizontal/vertical curves related to excavations, operations of satellite surveying systems known as Global Positioning System (GPS) and related computer assisted drafting (450 Clock Hours)
Surveying & Mapping III: This course will introduce the student to one person surveying techniques, surveying and fieldwork/office work pertaining to public land including writing descriptions of land and research of previous survey evidence, and related computer assisted drafting (450 Clock Hours)
Employability Skills and Entrepeneurship Core: This course teaches skills required to choose an occupation, learn computer literacy, locate and apply for a job, maintain a good relationship with supervisors and co-workers, and develop good work habits. It provides foundation concepts related to entrepreneurship. (30 Clock Hours)
