Automotive Technology TrainerChipola College's Automotive Service Technology Program is pleased to offer our state-of-the-art automotive training facility.  Our program trains students with the latest software, simulators, and diagnostic equipment in all phases of automotive services and electronics technologies.  The program combines classroom instruction with hands-on laboratory training in the troubleshooting, service, and repair of automotive systems.  Students who complete this program will acquire the necessary training, skills, and experience to pass the nationally recognized ASE certification exams in all eight automotive service areas.  The integration of applied academics instruction in physics, science, and mathematics, will enable students to continue in education, seek full-time employment, or a combination of both.  The Automotive Service Technology Program provides a platform for continuing education or employment in a rewarding, high wage career.  This program provides comprehensive skills enhancement training in the following automotive service areas:

*Engine Repair                                                *Manual Drive Trains/Transaxles
*Automatic Transmission/Transaxles       *Suspension/Steering Systems
*Braking Systems                                          * Heating/Air Conditioning Systems 
*Engine Performance                                    *Electrical/Electronic Systems

 
        This is a competency-based, self-paced program with open-entry. Interested
        individuals should contact the instructor for specific information. The
TABE
        (Test of Adult Basic Education) is required with program entry. There is no
        charge for this test.  The test provides faculty with information to assist students
        with academic needs, while allowing them the opportunity to work in their
        desired program area. You will also need to complete and return a completed
      
 Chipola College admissions application.     

Our Automotive Service Technology Program combines hands-on training in a fully integrated, interactive, computerized, and computer managed multi-stationed laboratory.  Our program provides a gateway for current and qualifying future technicians with practical exercises in a wide range of electronics fundamentals as it applies to today's technologically sophisticated automobiles.  The final stage of the training for graduating technicians is the combination of interactive simulators and vehicles featuring electronic fuel injection, computerized controlled ignition systems, starting systems, accessory systems, anti lock braking systems and Computerized Automotive Class electronic emission control systems.  This program develops a mastery of the applications of electronics through practical skills training, problem solving methods, real time simulations, and live work experience.
