Applied Welding Financial Resources

 

This program is designed to prepare a student for employment as electrical and electronics technicians or in related occupations in electronics, or to provide supplemental training to persons currently or previously employed in the occupation. This program focuses on broad, transferable skills and stresses understanding and demonstration of the following elements of the Electronic Industry; planning, management, finance, technical and product skills, underlying principles of technology, labor issues, community issues and health, safety, and environmental issues.


        Student

This is a one-year open-entry/open exit, competency-based program leading to a certificate upon satisfactory completion of required courses and/or competencies. The TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education) is required with program entry. There is no        charge for this test.  The test provides faculty with information to assist students
with academic needs, while allowing them the opportunity to work in their
 desired program area. You will also need to complete and return a completed
 Chipola College admissions application.

Electronic Technology Continues to be a high growth industry. The demand for professionally trained and skilled workers is projected to be stable and increasing . This career field requires workers who are focused on up-to-date information and willing to expand their knowledge with the pace of technology. is moving at a rapid pace in development and implementation. Employment ranges in a broad sector from established companies, military duty, to building your own business.

Areas of employment may include, but are not limited to, an Electronics Assembler, Electronics Tester, Electronics Equipment Repairer, and Electronics Technician. The course content also includes training in communication, leadership, human relations, employability skills, and safe, efficient work practices. Electronic laboratory activities are an integral part of this program.
