EXECUTIVE COACH TO
ADRESS CHIPOLA HONORS GROUP
MARIANNA—Executive coach Lori Day, of New Day Solutions, Inc., will address the
Chipola College Honors Program, Wednesday, March 17, at 1 p.m., in Jackson
Lecture Hall. The public is invited to attend.
Her presentation is entitled, “Take Your Choice.” Lori says, “Face it - life is
not perfect, predictable or easy. You have a choice. Ride in the
passenger seat or grip the wheel, hold on and cross the finish line with a trail
of victory smoke.” The executive coach explains, “Where you are right now is a
result of choices you have already made. And through life, the stakes,
consequences and rewards of those choices get greater and greater.
What choices will you take to write your story? Will it be the safe route
or the wildest ride of your life?”
Day will talk about the difference between making and taking choices, the
emotional importance of that difference, and the substantial impact these
choices have on the future.
Day is a 25-year financial services leader turned executive coach.
She brings a diverse level of experience in sales, operations, risk management,
organizational design, strategic planning and leadership development to her
clients. During her corporate career, she enjoyed many successes coaching
individuals and developing teams across multiple cultures, time zones, and
disciplines.
Day served as Senior Vice President for Bank of
America. She was Assistant Vice-President for Merrill Lynch. After years as an
executive, Day created her own company, New Day Solutions, Inc., to inspire
others to have a better work and family life. Lori is a wife and mother
to four children and knows what it’s like to climb the corporate ladder in a
skirt.
She is the wife of Chipola alumnus David Vaughn, a native of Marianna.

KEN YATES TO SPEAK TO CRAA IN BONIFAY
BONIFAY—Ken Yates, organist and educator, will be the featured speaker at
the monthly meeting of the Chipola Regional Arts Association (CRAA) on Tuesday,
March 16, at noon at the First Baptist Church of Bonifay, located at 311 N.
Waukesha Street. Yates will be speaking on the “History of the
Organ.” In addition, members of the Holmes County High Chorus will be
performing. CRAA members, guests and community members are invited to
attend a Dutch-treat luncheon buffet at Simbo’s Restaurant at 2005 Waukesha St.
prior to the noon meeting.
Persons wishing to eat lunch are asked to meet at the restaurant between
11:15-11:30 for a fellowship lunch followed by the program at the church.
Yates has served as organist at First Baptist, Bonifay, for over 55 years having
begun playing at the age of 14. He is retired from the Holmes County
School District having served as principal of Poplar Springs High School and
principal of Bonifay Elementary School.

CHIPOLA BRAIN BOWLERS HOST
NATIONAL TOURNEY
MARIANNA—The Chipola Brain Bowl A Team tied for fourth in the Community College
National Championship held at Chipola College Feb. 26-27. The Chipola B
Team finished tied for tenth.
The field consisted of 24 teams from around the nation. Chipola A now advances
to the DII National Championship held in Chicago on April 10. The top six
community college teams advance for the chance to win the DII championship.
Chipola will also compete for the FCCAA State Championship on March 18-20 at
Brevard Community College in Cocoa Beach. Chipola is the two-time defending
state champions.

Chipola College SIFE Team (Students in Free Enterprise) recently presented a
financial workshop for the staff of the Jackson County Health Department. The
session was lead by Dr. Jim Goodpasture, assistant professor of business and

FCCAA PLAYER OF THE WEEK
MARIANNA—Chipola College sophomore guard Bianca Jarrett earned FCCAA Women’s
Basketball Player of the Week honors for the final week of the season, Feb.26.
A native of Kenosho, Wisc., Jarrett averaged 34 points in her final three games
of the season. In a span of six days, the second-year guard scored 39 points
against Pensacola on Feb. 15, 31 points against Northwest Florida on Feb. 17 and
32 points against Tallahassee on Feb. 20.

MARIANNA—Brandon Donaldson of Bethlehem High and Rachel Ward of Poplar Springs
High are the new champions of Chipola College’s Seventh Annual High School
Three-Point Shootout.
Donaldson made 9 of 15 shots in the men’s finals. Two other men’s players made
it to the finals of the annual competition: Josh Rogers of Sneads and RJ Bowers
of Marianna.
Rachel Ward connected on eight shots in the finals to take the championship in
the women’s division. Sharlyn Marie Smith of Altha, Mychea Williams of
Graceville and Autumn Speigner of Malone also made it to the final round.
All boys and girls high school teams from the Chipola district were invited to
send their best three-point shooters to the competition.
The winners have their names engraved on a trophy in the Milton H. Johnson
Health Center and on a traveling championship trophy which will be housed in
their respective school’s trophy cases during the coming year.

CHIPOLA’S TEAM KELSON
WINS BRAIN BOWL TOURNEY
ORLANDO—The Chipola College Brain Bowl team, represented solely by Dallin Kelson,
won the Minnesota Undergrad Mirror held at Valencia CC, March 5-6.
Kelson beat FSU 260-60 in the final. He had only one loss in the tourney, to the
University of South Florida. FSU had two losses, both to Chipola’s Kelson.
On his way to the championship, Kelson won games against UF, UCF, and New
College. He was the top scorer with 1,180 points. David Flowers of FSU was
second, and Patrice Newkirk of New College was third.
Kelson not only was the top scorer, but he averaged more points per game and
more points per bonus than any team in the tournament. Tournament stats are

Chipola Brain Bowl coach Stan Young, says, “This was the single most impressive
performance that I have ever witnessed by a community college player.” Kelson is
a freshman on the Chipola team.
Kelson and the rest of the Chipola team will compete for the FCCAA State
Championship on March 18-20 at Brevard Community College in Cocoa Beach. Chipola
is the two-time defending state champion.

CHIPOLA DEAN OF
STUDENTS DR. JOAN MILLER RETIRES
MARIANNA—Dr. Joan Miller, Chipola College Dean of Student Services, was honored
at a retirement party in February.
She served as Dean of Student Services since 2001 and as an administrator,
academic advisor and faculty member at Chipola since 1982.
Dr. Miller represented the college by serving on many statewide committees for
the Articulation Coordinating Committee and the Florida Academic Counseling &
Tracking for Students System (FACTS.org). She also served as State Chair of the
Student Life Skills Committee for the Florida Statewide Common Course Numbering
System.
She was Chair of the Educational Programs Committee; as the Governance Council
Liaison to the Educational Support Services Committee; as a member of the
Substantive Change Committee; and as a member of the Compliance Certification
Team, achieving the College’s most recent Southern Association of Colleges &
Schools (SACS) reaffirmation in 2008.
Dr. Miller was nominated by her peers to receive the Faculty/Administrator of
the Year Award in 1999 and by the students to receive the 2000 Distinguished
Service Award.
She had three exemplary student development practices—Chipola Advising Manual,
Chipola Senior Day Program, and Chipola Partners Program—accepted as finalists
for the FACC Student Development Commission. Dr. Miller presented the
Chipola Advising Manual as an exemplary practice at the National Academic
Advising Association Southeast Regional Conference and at the 24th
Annual National Conference, and was a finalist for the League for Innovation
Terry O’Banion Shared Journey Award.
Dr. Miller served as a Chipola Partner with several district high schools and
developed and taught Orientation and Career/Life Planning classes. She also
served as the faculty sponsor for the Chipola Baptist Collegiate Ministry from
1982 to 1988.

HEALTH SCIENCE PROS PRESENT AT SIMULATOR CONFERENCE
TAMPA—A team of professionals from the Chipola College Health Science department
including nursing faculty, patient simulation coordinator, paramedic instructors
and the director, attended the Human Patient Simulation Network (HPSN)
conference in Tampa.
Some 1,000 health professionals attended the international conference which
included numerous training sessions on the application and learning environment
related to human patient simulators.
The Chipola team presented a scenario using an interdisciplinary approach to
learning. The scene began with a video clip from the Sandra Bullock movie
“28 Days.” The character was drinking and driving with cocaine use. A motor
vehicle accident ensued and paramedics emerged as the first responders.
Audience volunteers were recruited to serve in the paramedic student role.
Another volunteer served as a student nurse who assisted as the nursing staff
corresponded and worked in unison with the paramedics.
Vickie Stephens, Chipola Director of Health Science programs, says, “The purpose
of the training session was to heighten the awareness of the various roles and
responsibilities of each discipline and develop a deeper appreciation of the
teamwork necessary to create the most favorable outcome for the patient.”
The use of the human patient simulator creates a realistic model that breathes
and speaks, with pulse and blood pressure which can be monitored. The use
of moulage (the dressings, drainage, wigs, clothing, etc.) adds to the realism
of the scene.
A second video clip revealed a mock trial for the crash victim played by Chipola
nursing student Shawna Philips. She was sentenced to 28 days of inpatient
treatment as this was not her first offense. Stephens, says, “This
scenario provided a combination of psychiatric and medical issues that required
treatment. Often the entanglement with law enforcement is the very first
entry into intensive mental health treatment. People are holistic beings
and issues of both the mind and body should be addressed.”
The final video clip was created and compiled by Amy Sampson, Chipola Patient
Skills Lab Coordinator, depicting survival clinical skills labs to the tune of
“I Will Survive” with nursing-related lyrics sung by Chipola student Kylee
Shores. Phil Crawford performed the sound editing for the video.
Stephens indicated that the presentation was a success with positive feedback
during the question and answer session. “With the interdisciplinary
approach to learning by pairing EMS personnel and nurses, it reveals that
teamwork does make the dream work,” Stephens said.
Several people from the Marianna area participated in the project, including:
Judge Woodrow Hatcher, Prosecuting Attorney Shad Redmon, Defense Attorney
Derrick Blount, and Probation Officer Stacey Goodson. Many Chipola
students from nursing, paramedic and EMT, collaborated on the project.
The following employees represented the college at the conference: Keith Maddox,
Paramedic Coordinator; Dr. Karen Lipford, nursing professor; Kathy Leigh,
nursing professor; Ricky Winget, EMT Coordinator; Amy Sampson, SIMS Lab
Coordinator and Vickie Stephens, Director of Health Sciences.

Sinkhole Clean-up Project.

Conference games with Pensacola Junior College.
The Indians’ Michael Revell, Joey Rapp and Cody Martin all hit homers to lead
Chipola to a 9-3 win over Pensacola on March 10. Garrett Baker earned the win on
the mound for Chipola. Duncan Midkiff picked up the save.
Pensacola held the Indians scoreless (6-0) in the conference opener on March 8.
The Indians had three hits on the day from LeVon Washington, Michael Revell and
Aaron Etchison. Pitcher Austin Wright was charged with the loss for Chipola.
The Indians play at Pensacola March 12 before returning home to host Tallahassee
March 13 at 1 p.m. Chipola travels to TCC March 15 and hosts TCC again, March 17
at 5 p.m. Chipola begins a three game series at Gulf Coast March 19. The
Indians host Gulf Coast at 1 p.m. on March 20.
Chipola (13-12) is tied for eighth with Palm Beach in the FCCAA State poll.

GULF COAST IN SOFTBALL CONFERENCE OPENER
MARIANNA—The Chipola Lady Indians open the conference race Wednesday, March 17,
in a 4 p.m. double-header with Gulf Coast.
The Lady Indians
team improved to 26-6 after sweeping Heartland College in a double-header on
March 10.
Brittany Black threw 10 strikeouts to lead Chipola to an 11-2 win in game one.
Emma Stevenson picked up the win in game two.
Chipola swept Darton College in a March 6 double-header. Black was the winning
pitcher in Chipola’s 3-2 win in game one. Stevenson picked up in the win for the
Lady Indians in the 11-2 game two.
The Lady Indians are ranked third in the FCCAA State Poll begin top-ranked
Miami-Dade and number two Santa Fe. Northwest is fourth. TCC is fifth and Gulf
Coast is eighth.
Chipola heads to Jacksonville March 12-13 for games with St. Johns, St. Pete,
FCCJ and Seminole (OK).

Chipola swept Darton College in a March 6 double-header. Black was the winning
pitcher in Chipola’s 3-2 win in game one. Stevenson picked up in the win for the
Lady Indians in the 11-2 game two.
The Lady Indians are ranked third in the FCCAA State Poll begin top-ranked
Miami-Dade and number two Santa Fe. Northwest is fourth. TCC is fifth and Gulf
Coast is eighth.
Chipola heads to Jacksonville March 12-13 for games with St. Johns, St. Pete,
FCCJ and Seminole (OK).

FREE TAX PREPARATION
MARIANNA—In order to help more local
citizens get the most refund due them, Chipola College business instructor Lee
Shook and his student volunteers are providing free tax preparation and free
electronic filing.
The free service—for individual tax returns only—is available from 10 a.m. to 2
p.m., on Wednesdays, through early April. Other times may be scheduled by
appointment. Professor Shook says, “If it is a very complicated return, we ask
that you continue to use your paid professional, but if it is a fairly simple
return we can help. We will do Schedule A, itemized deductions.”
The free service usually takes no longer than 30 minutes. For faster refunds,
taxpayers are asked to bring a personal check which has routing information
needed for electronic refunds.

MARIANNA—The Lady Indians jumped out to a 2-0 record in the Panhandle Conference
race after sweeping a March 17 double-header with Gulf Coast.
Chipola won the first game 7-0 and game two, 3-1.
Chipola split a pair with Middle Georgia on March 15. The Lady Indians scored an
11-1 win in game one behind the pitching of Emma Stevenson. It took Middle
Georgia eight innings to beat Chipola 4-3 in the second game.
The Lady Indians lost a 2-1 battle with Florida State College on March 13.
Stevenson took the loss for Chipola. Nikki
Roddy was two for three at the plate.
Chipola scored a big 11-1 win over St. Petersburg on March 12. Brittany Black
was the winning pitcher for the Lady Indians.
The Lady Indians travel to Pensacola for a double-header on March 20. Chipola
returns home to host Tallahassee in a double-header on Tuesday, March 23, at 3

CHIPOLA BASEBALL HOSTS THREE AT
HOME
MARIANNA— The Chipola Indians improved to 3-2 in the Panhandle Conference after
splitting a pair of games with Tallahassee.
Tallahassee came out on top 7-1 in the March 15 game. Chipola scored a 5-3 win
over TCC on March 13. Austin Wright picked up the win on the mound for Chipola.
Levon Washington was two for three with a
homerun, three RBI’s and three runs scored.
The Indians’ March 17 game with Tallahassee was postponed until 2:30 p.m. on
March 18.
Chipola outlasted Pensacola 12-11 in
a March 12 battle.
Chipola plays a three game series with Gulf Coast, March 19-22. The Indians play
at Gulf Coast, Friday, March 19 at 2 p.m., before returning home to host Gulf
Coast, Saturday, March 20, in a 1 p.m. game. Chipola returns to Gulf Coast
for a 5 p.m. game on March 22.
Chipola hosts L.B. Wallace, Thursday, March 25, at 3 p.m.
The conference standing as of March 18 are: Gulf Coast (2-1), Chipola (3-2),
Tallahassee (3-2), Pensacola (1-2) and Northwest (2-4).

BOWLERS WIN THIRD STRAIGHT STATE TITLE
COCOA, FL—The Chipola Brain Bowl Team on March 20
won the FCCAA State Championship for the third year in a row.
Chipola defeated Valencia CC 730-350 in the final to claim the title. The team
finished the initial round robin with a perfect 9-0 record on their way to the
championship game, which pitted Chipola against Valencia in the championship for
the second straight.
Three Chipola team members were among the top 10 individuals in the tourney.
Dallin Kelson was fifth overall with 750 points. Cody Pickens was sixth with 495
points. Ethan Hewett scored 440 points to take tenth place overall. Nathan
Hooppell and Drew Padgett also scored among the top 40 players in the
tournament.
Chipola head coach Stan Young, said, “Assistant coach Robert Dunkle and I thank
everyone for the support we have received this year. We all should be proud.”

Chipola Brain Bowl A Team also tied for fourth in the Community College National
Championship held at Chipola Feb. 26-27. The Chipola B Team tied for
tenth.

GROUP WINS STATE AWARDS
TAMPA—Chipola College Phi Beta Lambda members took top honors at the recent
Florida PBL State Leadership Conference in Tampa.
Chipola students competed against 380 students from colleges and universities
throughout the state in performance events and exams. Four Chipola students
placed among the top five in the following contests: Jordan Hatcher – 3rd
place in Justice Administration; Tracy Scott – 4th place in
Accounting Principles; Paige White – 5th place in Client Service; and
Michael Ingram – 5th place Financial Analysis and Decision Making.
Qualifying students will advance to the National PBL Leadership Conference set
for July in Nashville. The Chipola students will also participate in numerous
leadership and career development workshops to acquire cutting-edge skills for
today’s competitive business environment.
PBL is the college level division of FBLA-PBL, the largest business career
student organization in the world. Chipola Associate Professor, Vikki
Milton, serves as the PBL adviser, and as the Florida District I PBL State
Adviser.

AND THEATRE AUDITION DATES SET
Scholarship Audition dates for Music and Theatre scholarships at Chipola College
for 2010-11 have been set for April 15. Show Choir auditions are set for
April 19.
Students majoring in art should submit their application, letters of
recommendation, and portfolio no later than April 22 to the Office of Fine and
Performing Arts.

ACE IS THE PLACE FOR CHIPOLA STUDENTS
MARIANNA—Chipola College students are providing feedback about the Academic
Center of Excellence (ACE) and its positive impact on learning at the college.
The ACE provides free peer tutoring, scheduled reviews for specific courses,
access to computers for class assignments, supplemental instruction for high
risk courses, and academic advising.
“We’ve tried to create an academically rigorous environment where students can
work on a variety of courses, ranging from Earth Science to Differential
Equations and from Developmental Reading to Humanities,” said ACE Coordinator
Bonnie Smith. “Of course, we support formation of study groups for any class at
Chipola, but most of our requests for assistance still come from math and
science students.”
Attendance was up to more than 200 student visits per day during Fall 2009
compared to only 25 a day when the center opened in Spring 2007. Nearly
900 different students made some 8,000 visits to the ACE during the Fall 2009
semester. “Student enthusiasm for the ACE continues to be greater than we
expected,” said Smith. “In fact, one student logged in 94 times last semester,”
said Smith, “and dozens made 75 or more visits.”
Student tutors are among the most important components of the ACE program. The
ACE has 19 students employed this semester. To be considered for a tutor
position, a student must have a GPA of 3.0, have received an A or B in the
course(s) for which they wish to tutor, or be in a more advanced course in the
same academic discipline. They must also receive an excellent recommendation by
a college faculty member. Tutors must re-apply each semester and only those with
satisfactory evaluations are re-hired.
“I think we all expected the ACE to help students who used the services to be
more successful in their classes, but we didn’t realize how much difference it
would make for the tutors themselves.” She said several of our best tutors have
decided to become teachers as a result of their work in the ACE. “I’ve also
noticed that many have given up their off-campus jobs so they can work more
hours helping other students learn.” According to Smith, having the right tutors
has been the most important element in the success of the ACE.
The ACE also offers Chipola Supplemental Instruction (CSI) sessions for students
in high risk math and science courses which have traditionally had a high rate
of D’s, F’s, or W’s. CSI is Chipola’s version of Supplemental Instruction on the
model developed by the University of Missouri—Kansas City. “I think we can
safely say we have increased the number of students participating, the number of
times students attend, and improved the grades of those who participate,” said
Smith.
Since the ACE assumed CSI, Smith said she’s learned to modify CSI and tutoring
sessions to accommodate the 4-Day/1-Day class schedule, the shortened Terms B
and C (8-week terms), the scheduling of rigorous academic classes like Chemistry
only at night in 3-hour time blocks, and the totally and partially on-line
courses “We’ve tried to respond to all these schedule changes and new course
formats so we can provide assistance when students need it most,” said Smith.
The ACE is part of a $1.85 million Title III—Strengthening Institutions
Program project which is in its fourth year of implementation. ACE opened in
March 2007 as the first Title III component.
Chipola’s interim president Dr. Sarah Clemmons said, “The ACE has brought a
learning renaissance across campus as students and faculty benefit from the
investment of federal funds in the institution.” She said Title III grants are
approved only if they show a plan to help an institution become stronger as it
develops more capacity to fulfill its mission. “Chipola has certainly increased
its capacity during the last four years. With the investment of federal funds
into campus facilities, students, personnel, technology, and learning resources,
the college is becoming stronger and more able to serve students,” said
Clemmons.
New Building and Improved Technology
The ACE originally occupied four classrooms in an existing building. After its
remarkable success, the college received over $1.5 million in state funds to
renovate and expand the building to include two additional classrooms, a
spacious foyer, restrooms, and a staff kitchen. The center has state-of-the-art
instructional technology. In addition to the 13 computers, two multi-media
presentation systems, a flat-screen TV, and a “Smart Board” which have been part
of the ACE from the beginning, the ACE is now wireless-enabled and has log-in
stations with tracking software. Smith said these new additions have probably
doubled the capacity of the center. Since February 2008, student use of the ACE
has been monitored by Accutrack, a student tracking system which allows students
to log in at the door. Daily, weekly, term, and annual reports can be produced.
“We now have more accurate attendance data for assessment and planning,” said
Smith.
Plans for the Future of the ACE
The Title III Team and ACE staff are considering several possibilities for the
future of the ACE, the first of which is to increase the number of instructors
who spend time helping students in the ACE. “We’ve had great faculty
participation, especially this semester,” said Smith, “but I hope to involve
instructors even more.” Smith also hopes to develop periodic seminars on
critical thinking, leadership, basic skills, and other topics. “I also envision
the creation of mini-seminars on some topics which will help students make
better decisions, study harder, and remain in college until they graduate. “And,
of course, I always want more computers.” added Smith. “The possibilities are
endless.”
Anonymous student comments about ACE are nearly all positive. One student said,
“I love the ACE lab! It is a great source for students to seek additional help
outside the classroom. The ACE Lab is literally the Key to success in college.”
Another said, “The staff and the tutors are extremely helpful. The ACE program
is incredible and sets Chipola apart from all other colleges in Florida.”

CHIPOLA PITCHER IS NJCAA PITCHER OF THE WEEK
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Chipola College softball player
Emma Stevenson has been named
the NJCAA Softball Pitcher of the Week for Division 1community colleges.
Stevenson
picked up three more wins for Chipola in the last week of play. On March
15, in a 9-1 win over Middle Georgia, Stevenson gave up one run on three hits
with two walks and seven strikeouts through seven innings.
On March 17, in a 3-1 win over Gulf Coast, the 5'3" freshman, again, gave up
just one run on five hits with two walks and eight strikeouts through seven
innings of work.
On March 20, against Pensacola, Stevenson threw seven innings giving up one
unearned run on five hits with two walks and eight strikeouts.
For the week, she threw 21 innings giving up 13 hits, three runs, five walks,
and had 23 strikeouts. Stevenson currently holds a .67 ERA.
Chipola leads the conference race with a 5-1 mark.
The Lady Indians
finish the conference season with three home doubleheaders: Pensacola on April 7
at 4 p.m.; TCC on April 10 at 1 p.m. and Northwest on April 16 at 4 p.m.

INDIANS LEAD PANHANDLE CONFERENCE
MARIANNA—The
Chipola Lady Indians softball team plays at Northwest on March 30 and at Gulf
Coast on April 1.
The Lady Indians finish up the conference season with three home doubleheaders:
Pensacola on April 7 at 4 p.m.; TCC on April 10 at 1 p.m. and Northwest on April
16 at 4 p.m.
Chipola leads the Panhandle Conference with a 5-1 record. Northwest is 3-1.
Pensacola is 3-3. Gulf Coast is 1-3 and TCC is 0-4.
Chipola is third in the FCCAA poll behind top-ranked Miami Dade and second place
Santa Fe. Northwest is fourth. TCC is seventh and Gulf Coast is ninth.
Chipola (31-10) swept a pair of games from number seven Tallahassee, winning 4-0
and 7-4 on March 23 in Tallahassee.
Brittany Black tossed a four-hit shutout in the opener to lead the Indians
(33-10, 5-1 PC) to the 4-0 victory.
Chipola logged only four hits off TCC's Sara Scott and Paige Martin but the
Indians took advantage of a pair of TCC errors to plate their four runs.
Chipola got on the board with an unearned run in the first. A fifth-inning error
by the Eagles started what would become a three-run inning for Chipola. With one
run already in, Ariell van Hook singled up the middle to score two more runs and
give the Indians a 4-0 advantage.
In the second game, Chipola forced eight errors in a 7-4 win against the Lady
Eagles. Chipola took advantage of the Eagles' miscues to build a 5-0 lead
entering the bottom of the fourth.
Chelsea Good put TCC on the board with a two-run homer to cut the deficit to
5-2. Chipola scored two runs in its half of the fifth to regain a five-run lead,
7-2. Jennifer Elmore hit a solo home run in the sixth to bring the Eagles within
four, 7-3.
In their final at-bat, the Lady Eagles brought the winning run to the plate
against Chipola starter Emma Stevenson. Good drew a two-out, bases-loaded walk
to score Scott, but Rochelle Mills grounded out to second base to end the game.
Stevenson picked up the win for Chipola while Morgan Grove was tagged with the
loss for TCC. Chipola’s van Hook went 2-for-7 with a home run and four RBI’s in
the doubleheader to lead Chipola.
The FCCAA state softball tournament is set for April 30 in Auburndale.
