Dr. Cherry Ward

Mathematics Faculty


Dr. Cherry Ward, QEP Chair, teaches in Chipola’s Teacher Education Program.  Prior to coming to Chipola in 2004, she taught curriculum design and supervised student teachers at Troy State University—Dothan.  From 1992 through 2001 she taught high school mathematics and worked as a curriculum specialist for school districts in and around Savannah, GA. Dr. Ward has taught Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Measurement and Evaluation, Methods of Teaching, Introduction to Middle School, Human Development and Learning, and Curriculum Design.

 Dr. Ward says her research interests include barriers to learning mathematics and special issues facing returning adults. She holds an Ed D in Curriculum Studies, an MEd in Mathematics Education, and a BS in Mathematics. Her dissertation at Georgia Southern University (2001) was titled Students’ Attitudes and Achievement as Related to Immediate Remediation in Paced Algebra.
