Online Registration Error Messages

There are three kinds of error messages; one is given at the beginning of the process after the PIN has been verified to make sure the student meets all the criteria for online registration; the second are errors related to the registration process; the third is for students that try to enroll in too many classes.

Please write down the error message prior to calling for help so we can identify the correct reason for the error.

Pre-registration error messages: 
These errors will be displayed between the 'Clear Screen' and the 'Close Window' buttons.  You will not be able to continue with the Online Registration process.  Sample:

• Selected Term Not Open for Web Registration.
  The term you have selected is not currently available for registration. Check the calendar to find when registration begins.
   
• Application Not Complete, Please see Admissions.
  Missing application information, including transcripts either from High School or College.
   
• Your Status is not Current, Please see Admissions.
  Anything other than a clear status - suspension, probation, applied but not admitted, warning, low GPA.
   
• Transient Students Not Eligible for Web Reg.  Please see Admissions.
   
• Employee fee waiver Students Not Eligible for Web Reg.  Please see Advisor.
  Employee fee waivers are granted on a space available basis.
   
• Web Registration Unavailable to Re-admitted Students. Please see Advisor.
  Admissions must verify all documents.
   
• Web Registration Unavailable to this Student.  Please see Advisor.
  Special override has been placed on this student by the Admissions Office.
   
• Web Registration Unavailable to Early Admissions Students. Please see Admissions.
  Online registration is not available for students that have not graduated from High School.
   
• Web Registration Unavailable to Dual Enrolled Students. Please see Admissions.
  Online registration is not available for students that have not graduated from High School.
   
• Web Registration Unavailable to Non Degree Seeking Students. Please see Advisor.
  Student has a special major not allowed for online registration.
   
• Web Registration Unavailable to Clock Hour Students. Please see Advisor.
  Online registration is not available for Work-Force Development students.
   
• Web Registration Unavailable to Nursing Students. Please see Advisor.
  Nursing courses are directed by the Health Sciences Department.
   
• General College Major Must see Advisor.
  Students must declare a specific major prior to using online registration.
   
• Completed Hours insufficient to be Eligible for Web Registration.
  Student must complete 12 hours to be eligible for online registration.
   
• Remedial Courses Required.  Please see Advisor.
  Student needs to be enrolled in remedial courses.
   
• Cumulative GPA Insufficient for Web Registration.
  GPA is less than 2.0; please see advisor for guidance.
   
• Regweb or Curterm not found on table file call helpdesk.
  Call extension 2218, 2231 or 4357 as soon as possible.

Registration error messages:
These errors will be displayed on the message line next to the course that has the problem.  Sample:

You can clear the error causing courses by clicking the Submit button.  The classes  you have enrolled in will be redisplayed and the courses with errors will be removed.

• Course not on file
  The course information was typed incorrectly.  There is no course with that name on our system.
   
• Time Conflict
  The class you are registering for is offered at the same time as another class you have already registered for.  Either change the section or choose a different class.  The class causing the conflict will be displayed in the error message.
   
• Please Select an Action
  The student forgot to select either Add or Delete prior to clicking the Submit button.
   
• Requires Admission Consent
  The class has a restriction that can only be overridden by the Admissions Office.  Please visit the Admissions and Registration Office for assistance.
   
• Class is Closed
  The class has reached the maximum number of students allowed.  Please select another section or another class.
   
• Web Reg. Not Available For Rem. Courses
  Students can't register for remedial courses without consulting an Advisor.
   
• Duplicate Course
  You have already registered for the same class.
   
• You May Not Type Over Existing Course
  To change a course you must delete the course first.  To add a new one you must use next available space.
   
• You Must Have XXXX Class PreReq.
  A pre-requisite must be completed before you can register for this class.
   
• Course Requires a Lab
  You must register for the lab at the same time you are registering for this course.
   
• Full Cost of Instruction
  You will be required to pay for full cost of instruction.  Class has been taken more than 3 times.
   
• Student File Not Available, Try Again Later.
  File is closed to allow production programs to run; try again in 30 minutes. 
   
• Course File Not Available, Try Again Later.
  File is closed to allow production programs to run; try again in 30 minutes. 

Excess hours error message:
This error will be displayed after the Student ID and PIN and before the Student Name and course information.  To resolve this error the student needs to erase, not delete, the courses that are making him/her go over the limit (18 hours for Fall and Spring and 9 hours for Summer Sessions).  Press submit after some of the courses have been erased to proceed with the remaining courses.
