Florida State University
Specific Requirements

  1. Application for Admission:  Fee - $20.00

  2. Immunization – Each student must provide documented proof of immunity to measles and rubella, effective Fall Term 1986. Proof is required before you can register at a university.

  3. AA Except for CLAST – A student with an A.A. degree and has a GPA less than 2.5 must show proof of successfully passing and/or exempting all parts of the CLAST before admission to FSU. Students with an AA degree and have a GPA of 2.5 or above and have successfully passed or exempted all parts of the CLAST will be officially admitted but will have to register and take the CLAST their first semester. Some majors require that you pass, not exempt CLAST, for admission.

  4. Recalculating the GPA of Community College AA Degree Transfer Students – The home community college’s grade forgiveness policy is honored when courses are taken and repeated at the home institution. If the course was taken at one institution and repeated at another, both grades are calculated in the GPA. Withdrawals are not calculated in the GPA; however, an incomplete remaining on a transcript becomes an "F."

  5. Foreign Language Exit/Graduation Requirements – As a general policy, the State University System requires that a student complete two years of the same foreign language in high school, OR two semesters of the same foreign language at the community college. Following are some exceptions and/or additional requirements.

All students must show proof of foreign language requirements before official admission to FSU. A student’s file that does not contain proof of eight hours of college level foreign language or two years of high school foreign language will be considered incomplete. Admission to FSU will be considered after proof of successfully completing the foreign language requirement is provided.
