New College of Florida
Specific Requirements

  1. Application for Admission:  Fee - $30.00

  2. Immunization – Each student must provide documented proof of immunity to measles and rubella, effective Fall Term 1986. Proof is required before you can register at a university.

  3. AA Except for CLAST – Students who have met all requirements for the AA except for the CLAST will not generally be admitted to the College. Students who are admitted without the CLAST may be assigned the maximum credit of three semesters and one Independent Study Project, contingent upon transcript review by the Registrar for approved liberal arts courses with grades of "C" or better. These students are expected to complete all sections of the CLAST successfully by the end of the fourth semester (including semesters of transfer credit).

  4. Recalculating the GPA of Community College AA Degree Transfer Students – The Office of Admissions honors the grade forgiveness policy, and does not recalculate the GPA.

  5. Foreign Language Exit/Graduation Requirements – As a general policy, the State University System requires that a student complete two years of the same foreign language in high school, OR two semesters of the same foreign language at the community college. Following are some exceptions and/or additional requirements.

American Sign Language, modern languages, and classical languages are acceptable. Individual areas of concentration (and/or the student’s faculty advisor) may require foreign language study at New College of Florida.
