University of Central Florida
Specific Requirements

  1. Application for Admission:  Fee - $30.00

  2. Immunization – Each student must provide documented proof of immunity to measles and rubella, effective Fall Term 1986. Proof is required before you can register at a university.

  3. A.A. Except for CLAST – Students may be admitted provisionally who have not satisfied the CLAST requirement, provided they have a minimum 2.5 GPA without grade forgiveness, completed the two college level English and Mathematics requirements, and completed the foreign language entrance requirement. Students who have not passed all four subtests of CLAST may enroll in 36 semester hours of upper division credit. If the CLAST requirement has not been satisfied and the 36 hours of upper-division credit have been earned, enrollment in future semesters at UCF will be prohibited until the CLAST requirement has been met.

  4. Recalculating the GPA of Community College A.A. Transfer Students – All grades earned are used to calculate the GPA with the exception of those repeated under forgiveness as part of the A.A. Grade forgiveness at another institution is not recognized for a course initially taken at UCF. A student’s GPA will not be changed by grade forgiveness at another institution. An unlimited number of grade forgivenesses are allowed as part of the A.A. unless the course being repeated is a UCF course. If the AA student has used two or more grade forgivenesses at the community college, no other forgivenesses are allowed at UCF. No forgiveness will be given for another institution’s courses repeated at UCF or for any forgiveness by another institution after the A.A. has been awarded.

  5. Foreign Language Admission Requirements – As a general policy, the State University System requires that a student complete two years of the same foreign language in high school, OR two semesters of the same foreign language at the community college. Following are some exceptions and/or additional requirements.

Students transferring with the A.A. will be admitted with or without the foreign language requirement. Any student transferring without the A.A. must provide official verification that the foreign language is complete. Students will not be admitted without the foreign language requirement unless they have earned the A.A. Any student admitted without the foreign language requirement must complete eight semester hours of foreign language at UCF before graduating from the university. If the foreign language was completed in high school, a high school transcript is required. Some majors/departments require one year of college level foreign language as a graduation requirement.
