University of Florida
Specific Requirements

  1. Application for Admission:  Fee - $30.00

  2. Immunization – Each student must provide documented proof of immunity to measles and rubella, effective Fall Term 1986. Proof is required before you can register at a university.

  3. AA Except for CLAST – For all UF programs the AA degree is required for admission; this includes passage of all sections of the CLAST, or the alternative method, except for teacher preparation programs, which require passage of all four sections of CLAST.

  4. Recalculating the GPA of Community College AA Degree Transfer Students – For students transferring with the AA degree, UF will use the overall GPA calculated by the community colleges for admission (that is, if the CC has grade forgiveness, then UF will consider this for admissions purposes). If a transfer student applies without an AA degree, the GPA is recalculated to include each attempt. Most UF colleges also consider a pre-professional GPA (GPA of courses required for their major) when evaluating a student for admission. Some colleges may include all attempts in pre-professional courses.

  5. Foreign Language Exit/Graduation Requirements – As a general policy, the State University System requires that a student complete two years of the same foreign language in high school, OR two semesters of the same foreign language at the community college. Following are some exceptions and/or additional requirements.

Foreign language, as outlined in the preceding general policy, is an entrance requirement for all UF students. American Sign Language is acceptable. Certain majors, particularly in the College of Liberal Arts, have additional foreign language graduation requirements.
