University of South Florida
Specific Requirements

  1. Application for AdmissionFee - $30.00

  2. Immunization – Each student must provide documented proof of immunity to measles and rubella, effective Fall Term 1986. Proof is required before you can register at a university.

  3. AA Except for CLAST – Students meeting all Florida AA requirements except for CLAST are admissible to the University of South Florida. Transfer students should take the CLAST the first semester they are enrolled as a degree-seeking student. If a student has completed 36 hours of upper level (3000 and 4000) courses after the first attempt to pass CLAST and has not satisfied the CLAST requirement, registration will be restricted to 1000 and 2000 level courses. Preparation will be required in each of the subtests failed. Further registration at USF will be denied for failure to complete the required preparation.

  4. Recalculating the GPA of Community College AA Degree Transfer Students – All grades earned are used to calculate the GPA with the exception of those repeated under forgiveness as part of the AA. The USF Office of Admissions uses the last grade received for a course for calculating GPA. Any course taken as Pass/Fail or receiving a W or I are not considered for GPA. Grade forgiveness at another institution is not recognized for a course initially taken at USF.

  5. Foreign Language Exit/Graduation Requirements – As a general policy, the State University System requires that a student complete two years of the same foreign language in high school, OR two semesters of the same foreign language at the community college. Following are some exceptions and/or additional requirements.

Students transferring with 60 or more transferable hours, as determined by the Office of Admissions, will be admitted with or without having met the foreign language requirement. Any student admitted without the foreign language requirement must complete eight semester hours of foreign language at the college level before graduating from the university. If the foreign language was completed in high school, a high school transcript is required. Some majors/departments have specific foreign language requirements that must be met.
