CHIPOLA WELLNESS PROGRAM
Chipola encourages the wellness of all employees. With supervisor approval, employees may leave their work station for up to 90 minutes a week to engage in approved wellness activities as long as they engage in the activity for up to 90 minutes of their own time.
An example would be to leave work 30 minutes early Monday, Wednesday and Friday, to exercise for a total of one hour each of those days. Another example would be to arrive at work 15 minutes late four days a week and work out for a total of 30 minutes on those days. Employees should complete a Wellness Administrative Leave and Time Log and submit to HR at each month.
Spouses of full-time college employees are now eligible to use the Chipola Wellness Center. Spouses must: pay annual fee of $100 in the Business Office; complete Waiver Release in Human Resources; and take access card to Student Affairs for picture ID, Monday–Thursday, 8-11 a.m. and 1-4 p.m. Payment of fee - $100 per fiscal year (July 1 – June 30), regardless at what point during the fiscal year that it is paid. All proximity/access cards will expire on June 30 of each year.
CHIPOLA SUMMER AND FALL REGISTRATION DATES
MARIANNA—Chipola College will hold registration for the Summer Session II, Thursday, June 23, with classes beginning June 27.
Returning students may register for Fall 2016 classes June 13, and again July 5-8 and 11-14. The early registration fee payment deadline for Fall classes is Aug. 11. Online registration is available for students who qualify.
New student application deadline for the Fall Semester is Aug. 3. New students who have been cleared for admission for the Fall Term by June 30 may register for Fall classes July 6-12. New students who register during July will be required to attend orientation classes July 18, 19, 20, 21 and 25. Day and evening orientation classes will be offered.
The most important deadline may be July 27. This is the deadline to apply for Federal Financial Aid to cover Fall tuition and fees. Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application and submit required documents to the Chipola Financial Aid Office by July 27. Those who miss the deadline will be required to pay tuition and fees up front, but may be reimbursed once financial aid is awarded. Applications for Admission are available in the Admissions Office located in the Student Service Building or online at www.chipola.edu. There are several steps in the application process: (1) complete the college Admission Application available online or call 718-2311 for assistance; (2) request a final high school transcript be sent to Chipola Admission and Records Office; and (3) take the College Placement Test (non-exempt students); call 718-2284 for assistance.
Chipola offers Bachelor’s Degrees, the Associate in Arts Degree, the Associate in Science Degree and Workforce Development programs. Courses are offered during the day, evening and via the internet.

CORRECTIONS AND LAW ENFORCEMENT CLASSES AT CHIPOLA
The Chipola College Criminal Justice Training Center will offer several academy classes beginning in July.
A Basic Recruit Corrections Academy will begin July 5. Classes will meet Monday through Thursday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
A Basic Recruit Law Enforcement Academy and a Corrections to Law Enforcement Cross-over class begins July 11. Classes meet weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Completion of any these programs will prepare candidates to take the State Board Examination to become certified by the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission, upon becoming employed with a law enforcement agency.
Prior to admission, all candidates must earn a passing score on the Criminal Justice Basic Abilities Test (CJBAT) offered at the Public Service Building every Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. Cost of the test is $45.
Applicants must have a standard high school diploma or its equivalent and must undergo a medical physical examination, background check and drug screening. Financial assistance is available based upon need and eligibility.

APPLY NOW FOR CHIPOLA EMT AND PARAMEDIC PROGRAMS
MARIANNA—Applications for the EMT and Paramedic Programs at Chipola College are currently being accepted with an application deadline of Aug. 3.
The EMT program consists of 300 hours per the Department of Education Framework and will run for 16 weeks. The program meets from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Wednesday.
The Paramedic Program runs for three semesters. Day classes are designed to accommodate working students by providing a flexible A & B schedule. Day classes are held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

CHIPOLA BASEBALL CAMP AND SWIM LESSONS
MARIANNA—Chipola College will offer programs for children of all ages this summer.
Group Swim Lessons for ages four and up will meet during two sessions. The session that runs June 13-23 is full. The next session, July 11-21, has a registration deadline of July 5. Classes are available at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Sessions include eight 45-minute classes which meet Monday through Thursday for two weeks. Lessons are based on a combination of nationally-recognized methods. Cost of each two-week session is $55. Pre-registration is required, with a $5 late registration fee. CHIPOLA ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR B.S. DEGREE PROGRAMS
MARIANNA—Chipola College is now accepting applications for each of the college’s 10 bachelor’s degrees programs in Education, Business and Nursing.
Application deadline is Dec. 2 for the Spring 2017 semester which begins in January. Deadline to apply for Federal Financial Aid to cover Spring tuition and fees is Nov. 17.
Scholarships are available for all 10 B.S. degrees. Financial aid also is available through the Chipola Foundation and through state and federal programs.
Chipola’s tuition is $115 per semester hour for upper division courses compared to $215 per hour at nearby universities. Chipola also offers in-state tuition for Alabama and Georgia residents.
Chipola offers seven different bachelor’s degrees in the teaching field: Elementary Education, Exceptional Student Education, English Education, Middle School Mathematics, Secondary Mathematics, Middle School Science and Secondary Science (Biology). All education degrees have high placement rates with excellent re-hire rates for the second year. Chipola education graduates are teaching in nearly all of the 34 public schools in the college’s service area which includes: Calhoun, Holmes, Jackson, Liberty and Washington counties. Chipola offers the B.S. in Business Administration with majors in Accounting or Management. Both programs have excellent placement rates. Most of the courses are offered in the evening and online. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program offers all upper division classes completely on-line. Applicants must have completed an AS degree in Nursing from a regionally-accredited institution or have completed the AA degree with all prerequisites from a Florida public institution or 60 semester hours and satisfactory completion of Chipola's general education requirements including Gordon Rule and all prerequisites. Applicants must be licensed RN’s in (Florida, Alabama, or Georgia) with an overall 2.5 minimum GPA with a minimum grade of "C" in all common pre-requisites.
