Chipola College Announces the 2023-2024 Artist Series Season. September 7th, 2023. January 16th, 2024. March 26th, 2024

The 2023-2024 season promises to be an exciting line-up of great entertainment for all ages opening September 7, 2023 with TRIO PACIFIQUE.  The Jacksonville based Trio Pacifique unites three international artists, Russian cellist Alexei Romanenko, violinist Jonathan Kuo, and Canadian pianist Christine Yoshikawa. Successful soloists on the international stages throughout the United States, Canada and Europe, recent seasons have taken them on a tour throughout the Southeastern United States, the Midwest, including appearances in the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series and live for Chicago’s WFMT, Boston, San Francisco, New York, Milwaukee, and throughout Canada.

            JUDY CARMICHAEL will have audiences dancing in the aisles on January 16, 2024 with high-energy interpretations of the Great American Songbook, witty original compositions, and hilarious between-song patter: think Randy Newman meets Peggy Lee! From swinging romps on Cole Porter and Harold Arlen to sultry takes on Gershwin and Ellington, an evening with Judy is a don’t miss, joy-filled experience! Grammy nominated pianist/vocalist Judy Carmichael is one of the world’s leading interpreters of stride piano and swing.  Count Basie himself nicknamed her “Stride” in reference to her mastery of that early piano style popularized by Thomas “Fats” Waller, Count Basie and James P. Johnson. Judy’s music and wit have been featured on A Prairie Home Companion, Entertainment Tonight, CNN, NPR and weekly on her Podcast/NPR show Judy Carmichael’s Jazz Inspired… celebrating over 23 years on stations across the country.             The season rounds out on March 26, 2024 with CELTIC ANGELS IRELAND.  Headed by the powerhouse creative team direct from Ireland and featuring award winning Irish and World Champion Singers, Dancers and Musicians. Celtic Angels Ireland is a theatrical feast for all ages. Escape to Verdant Valleys and Heathery Highlands. Step back in time to the Land of Saints and Scholars. Lose yourself in the alluring Angels’ magical melodies Feel your heart pound to raucous rhythms of the champion Celtic Knights Dancers. Immerse yourself in Ireland’s infectious influences across the Wild Blue Ocean to the Amber Waves of Grain and Beyond.  With over 30 Irish traditional and contemporary tunes masterfully intertwined and performed fully live by the Trinity Ensemble, the Heavenly Celtic Angels and the Dynamic Celtic Knights Dancers, the spectacular Celtic Angels Ireland is guaranteed to entertain and delight.  Learn more at www.celticangels.com

            Season tickets go on sale Aug. 21.  Season tickets—$50—are a bargain price when compared to sister institutions where prices are double or triple this amount.  Season ticket holders receive reserved seating renewal privileges for the next season. Patrons who are renewing their season tickets may contact the Box Office beginning Aug. 21.

            Single event ticket prices this year are $20 for adults, $10 for children under 18, and $5 for Chipola students and employees.  Single event tickets go on sale Aug. 21.
