Chipola Brain Bowl Teams Excel at Delta Burke Tournament

Chipola College Brain Bowl teams earned strong results at the Delta Burke Tournament held this past weekend (11/14-11/16) at Valencia College in Orlando.

Chipola’s A Team won the championship match with a 495–195 victory over Murray State College of Oklahoma. The win completed an excellent fall season for the team. A Team members are Devin Tharp, Jeremy Scurlock, John Maupin, and Ian Hatcher.

Chipola’s B Team also advanced to the championship brackets and finished 5th out of 22 teams. B Team members are Rhett Bethea, Trent Watson, Katelyn Young, and Will Anderson.

Three Chipola players ranked in the Top 10 overall scorers:

• Devin Tharp — 2nd overall
• Rhett Bethea — 6th overall
• Jeremy Scurlock — 8th overall

“This tournament showed strong teamwork and steady improvement from our students,” said Stan Young, Brain Bowl Coach. “We are proud of how they represented Chipola.”
