Chipola College celebrated extraordinary success at their Annual Day of Giving on December 2nd, also known as Giving Tuesday.  Students, staff, alumni, and community members joined together in a powerful demonstration of generosity and support for the college and its students.

Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of students, employees, alumni, and community partners, Chipola received extensive donations of professional clothing and food pantry items and financial contributions totaling $55,525.  The generosity shown significantly strengthens the college’s capacity to serve students throughout the year.

As part of the day’s festivities, All In Credit Union presented Chipola with a check through their annual community grant program. This generous grant ensures the Food Bank can continue providing essential support to students so they can remain focused on their studies.

Chipola was also honored to welcome back Mr. Jesse Smallwood, whose Giving Tuesday contribution last year helped push the college past its Legacy Campaign goal. This year, Mr. Smallwood continued his tradition of support with another generous donation. “Mr. Smallwood embodies the spirit of Giving Tuesday,” said Dr. Arlene Davis, Fund Raising Representative. “His belief in our students and mission truly inspires us.”

During the event, scholarship recipients Nicholas Pete and Shelby Brock, both currently pursuing bachelor’s degrees at Chipola, shared moving testimonies about how donor support has shaped their educational journeys. Their stories underscored the impact of philanthropy on student success.

Legacy Society Vice President Robert Trammell recognized Chipola English Professor Amie Myers for her generous future planned gift. Ms. Myers carries forward a powerful family legacy established by her parents, Dr. Kitty Myers and Ronnie Myers, and her great-grandfather, Mr. Roy Beall—each of whom played a significant role in shaping Chipola College from its earliest days. Her continued dedication, both in the classroom and through her philanthropic commitment, reflects her unwavering belief in Chipola’s mission and its future.

“At Chipola, giving truly changes lives—and today was a shining example of that,” said Dr. Clemmons. “The generosity of so many make it possible for Chipola to continue our mission of changing lives and creating futures.”

Though Giving Tuesday has passed, there is still time to participate in Chipola’s Annual Day of Giving. Donations can be made at www.chipola.edu/givingday or by contacting Dr. Arlene Davis at davisa@chipola.edu or 850-718-2380.

This Giving Tuesday also propelled Chipola across the finish line of its Next Great Million Legacy Campaign. The campaign officially closed with an impressive total of $1,084,844.

“We could not have achieved this milestone without our dedicated supporters,” Dr. Clemmons said. “Your unwavering generosity empowers our students, strengthens our programs, and ensures Chipola continues its mission for generations to come.”
