Chipola College Hosts Mental Health Symposium in Marianna

The General Studies Department of Chipola College recently hosted its annual Mental Health Symposium, bringing together students, faculty, and community partners to promote awareness and connect individuals with essential mental health resources.

The event emphasized the importance of seeking mental health services when warranted and eliminating the stigma associated with mental illness. Mental illness affects all elements of our society. Presentations from students and guest speakers highlighted the various mental health disorders and available resources and treatment modalities.

Fifteen organizations participated, providing valuable services and information to attendees. Special thanks were extended to Dr. Willie Spires, Dean of General Studies and Linda Morales, Psychology Instructor for organizing the event.
