Chipola College Welcomes Students for Start of 2026-27 Academic Year

Chipola College welcomed new and returning students to campus Monday, Aug. 24, marking the first day of classes for the 2026-27 academic year.
Campus was filled with first-day activity as students found their classrooms, met instructors and classmates, and settled into the new semester. Welcome tents were set up around campus to help students with directions, answer questions and make the transition into the new academic year a little easier.
Chipola’s Student Government Association also helped students beat the August heat by providing shaved ice from The Ice Box between classes.
For some students, Monday marked their first day as a college student. For others, it was another step toward completing a degree, earning a credential or preparing for the next stage of their education or career.
The beginning of the new academic year also reflects the message behind Chipola’s 2026-27 annual campaign, “Freedom to Become.” The campaign highlights the opportunities students have at Chipola to explore their interests, discover their talents, pursue new goals and create a path that is uniquely their own.
Chipola College welcomes all new and returning students and looks forward to a great 2026-27 academic year.
