Chipola gets $350,000 Grant for Cybersecurity

Published:

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Florida College System Chancellor Kathy Hebda visited Chipola College on Aug. 6 to deliver a $354,879 Florida Job Growth Grant to Chipola President Dr. Sarah Clemmons.

The grant will help expand the college’s cybersecurity training programs for students. It will be used for enhancements for the Associate of Science degree program in networking systems technology, and in two college credit certificate programs in the AS degree: network/cybersecurity and digital forensics.

The money will be used to purchase training equipment and software, and to hire additional faculty. The grant also can support professional development for instructors and cover certification costs for students to earn industry-recognized IT credentials.
