Chipola Indians Move to 9-0

After a successful spree of home games and one on the road, the #5 Indians are currently 9-0.

Chipola will head to Gainesville this weekend, Dec. 2-3, to play in the FCSAA Shootout. The Indians will face Indian River on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 1 PM CT and then take on Polk State College on Sunday, Dec. 3 at 1 PM CT. Both games will be played on the campus of Santa Fe College.

November 17, 2023         Chipola 90           Mississippi Gulf Coast 44

Indians defeat Mississippi Gulf Coast to move to 5-0 on the season with a final score of 90-44.  At halftime, the Indians led 38-20 and increased their lead in the second half with Sami Pissis leading Chipola with 17 with Zocko Littleton right behind him with 15. Thirteen players scored for Chipola.

 

November 18, 2023         Chipola 80           Georgia Highlands 67

Indians move to 6-0 & run their home winning streak to 22, which dates back to the final regular season game of 2021-22.

After trailing by as many as 13 in the first half, the Indians closed the gap to two by halftime, trailing Georgia Highlands 35-33. The Indians came back strong in the second half beating Georgia Highlands 80-67.

Dontae Walker led all scorers with 24 points and followed by Greedy Williams with 23.

 

November 24, 2023         Chipola 87           Hinds 46

Chipola moves to 7-0 on the season and takes their home winning streak to 23 with an 87-46 victory over Hinds CC.  At the half, Chipola led 42-15 with the Indians shooting 51.5% while holding the Bulldogs to just 20.8% from the floor.

In the end, AJ Barnes led the way for the #7 Indians with 13 points and every player on the roster scored.

 

November 25, 2023     Chipola 76         Miami Dade 71

Chipola moved to 8-0 on the season taking their home winning streak to 24 games with a 76-71 win over Miami Dade.

Sami Pissis led the Indians with 14 points. Greedy Williams was right behind him with 13 and Dontae Walker and Jerald Colonel chipped in 10 apiece.

 

Chipola will hit the road for the first time this season on Monday when they travel to Central Georgia Tech for a 5:30 PM tip in Warner Robins, GA.

 

November 27, 2023         Chipola 80           Central Georgia Tech 64

While on the road, the #5 Indians move to 9-0 with an 80-64 win over Central Georgia Tech.

 

The Titans hit a three at the buzzer to tighten the score after the first twenty minutes. The Indians led by as many as 13 in the first half.  At the half, Chipola was shooting 45.5% from the floor compared to CGT's 47.8% and outrebounded the Titans, 20-11. CGT is shooting 7-of-14 from the three-point range to help keep them in the game. Chipola is just 4-of-10 from beyond the arc.

 

As of the final buzzer, Dontae Walker had poured in 20 to lead all scorers. Joining him in double digits were Sami Pissis (15) & Jeremy Gregory (12).
