2023 Math Olympics Tirg Winners

MARIANNA—Some 127 students representing 14 area High schools participated in the 37th annual Chipola College Math Olympiad on March 10, 2023.

            Students competed individually on written exams in Algebra I and II, Geometry, Trigonometry and Scholarship.  Teams competed in three Ciphering competitions and for Team Awards that are earned through highest combined scores on the written exams.  The students earned medals and trophies, and were treated to lunch.  The event concluded with an awards ceremony in the Cultural Center.

            Ciphering team winners are:

            Algebra I— first, Blountstown HS, team members: Isaac Mcghee, Berkley Neel; second Washington Christian, team members: Hayden Bennett, Ayden Jones, Brenlea Thornton.

            Algebra II first, Blountstown HS, Waylon Davis, Matthew Evans, Ethan Hobbs; second Poplar Springs, team members: Jacob Blackman, Melissa Bollman, Hannah Richburg.

            Geometry—first, Dayspring Christian team members: Will Anderson, Jamison Scheffer; second, Altha HS, team members: Kathryn Barth, Kaysa Forman, Takoda Tousey   .
