Chipola Nursing Students Learn About Organ And Tissue Donation

Students in Chipola College’s Associate Degree Nursing (ADN/RN) and Practical Nursing (PN) programs recently attended an educational presentation by representatives from LifeNet, a nonprofit organization specializing in regenerative medicine and tissue procurement.
During the presentation, guest speakers provided students with an overview of the organ and tissue donation process, including the coordination, transportation and procedures involved in organ procurement. Speakers also discussed the important role nurses play throughout the donation process and how their responsibilities contribute to lifesaving efforts.
The presentation gave students an opportunity to connect classroom instruction with real-world health care practices while gaining a better understanding of the teamwork and coordination required in organ and tissue donation.
Chipola College appreciates LifeNet representatives for sharing their knowledge and providing students with valuable insight into this important area of health care.
