Chipola’s Our Town Wins Superior Award

The Chipola College Theatre production of ‘Our Town” received a Superior rating from the Florida College System Activities Association.

The respondent who evaluated the show praised, “The acting featured several standout performances that were clear and consistent with the spirit of the play. Our Town presents a considerable challenge for young actors, particularly because it lacks the action, dramatic intensity, and spectacle often associated with modern plays and musicals. The cast demonstrated considerable commitment to this challenging work.”

Three students were awarded special recognition pins for their performance: Quinton Chavers (Stage Manager), Randi Boyd (Emily Webb), and Johnathan Waldrop (George Gibbs).

Chipola Theatre’s next production is “Footloose: The Musical,” slated for February 18-20, 2027 at 7 p.m. and February 21, 2027 at 2 p.m. in the Center for the Arts, Theatre.  Open Auditions are December 1 at 6 p.m. in the Center for the Arts, Theatre.
