Lady Indians Advance to the Semifinals to play Eastern Florida
After Indian River hit a home run in the first inning, Anyela Gomez Ruiz did not allow another run.
In the third inning, Hannah Capps singled with one out. Then with two outs, Kayla Franklin tripled to tie the score, 1-1. Diana Arcay followed up with a single up the middle to score Franklin and give the Lady Indians a 2-1 lead.
Both teams would have opportunities to score in the final four innings but the 2-1 score held up and #22 CHIPOLA TOOK DOWN #4 INDIAN RIVER!
Lady Indians, the 6 seed, advance to the semifinals to play the 7 seed Eastern Florida at 3 PM CDT on Thursday. Eastern Florida took out the 2 seed Northwest Florida, 1-0, in the day’s first game.
