Local Students Jumpstart College Careers at 2025 Chipola College Dual Enrollment Summer Academy
Area high school students are starting their summer with a head start on college, thanks to the 2025 Chipola College Dual Enrollment Summer Academy, which kicked off Monday, June 2. This year, 51 students from local public and private high schools, as well as home-schooled students, are participating in the six-week program.
Now in its fourth year, the Summer Academy offers students a unique opportunity to earn college credit at no cost while still in high school. Participants receive one-on-one academic advising, career counseling, and comprehensive academic support. It also serves as an opportunity for dual enrollment students to complete college orientation before graduating high school.
During the opening session, Chipola’s Dual Enrollment team celebrated the academy’s continued success. Over the past three years, the program has achieved a 100% success rate, with all students earning a grade of B or higher in every course.
“The Summer Academy not only helps students save on tuition costs, but it also prepares them for the rigors of college coursework,” shares Bonnie Smith, AVP of Student Affairs. “This early exposure builds confidence and sets them up for long-term academic success.”
Chipola College offers a variety of educational pathways, including Bachelor’s Degrees, Associate in Arts and Science Degrees, Workforce Development programs, and professional certifications.
