Chipola Theatre will hold open auditions for “The Taming of the Shrew” on Monday, April 11, from 6-9 p.m., in the Chipola Center for the Arts. The public is invited to audition. This is an opportunity for the community to participate in the new Chipola Shakespeare program. Chipola Shakespeare is a new and exciting modern approach to performing the Shakespeare classics.  Community members are invited to audition for roles or volunteer with tech – lighting, sound and costumes.

In Shakespeare’s comedy, a wandering braggart Petruchio wants a wealthy wife, and nothing else matters—she can be ugly as sin and a holy terror. He meets Kate, the shrewish daughter of a rich man. She's beautiful. But she's a holy terror. And Petruchio must "tame" even as he falls for her!

The play runs June 16-18. The traveling troupe will be performing in locations throughout the Chipola District. More information about locations will be posted at a later date at www.chipola.edu/boxoffice.
