The Indians start off with a BANG

Both the Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams have kicked off the 2023-24 season with a BANG! 

The men’s team started their season in The Milt with a game against Reid State on November 2nd.  With a final score of 101 to 64, Zocko Little Jr led the Indians with 24 and returning Indian Dontae Walker scored 17 points.

The Indians hosted the Chipola Classic on Saturday, Nov 4. The #11 Indians moved to 3-0 with a 95-73 win over Copiah-Lincoln on Saturday, led by Greedy Williams with 17 points and a 78-70 win over Southwest Mississippi on Sunday.

The Indians will host Wallace-Selma on Friday, November 10th at 7 PM.

The Lady Indians’ opener was a high scorer against Georgia Highlands. Chipola won 99-22 with 6 players finishing in double digits.  Jasmine Jones with 24, Victoria Morales with 21, Tahnyjia Purifoy and Marieme Diouf both with 11, and Mekhila Brown and Marie Wembadjonga both scoring 10 points each.  The Lady Indians will host the Visit Jackson County Women’s Basketball Tournament sponsored by the Tourist Development Council on Friday & Saturday, 11/10 & 11/11. The Lady Indians play #10 Shelton State on Friday at 5 PM and DME Academy on Saturday at 2 PM.
