  • Learn by doing. Build technical skill and competency in reading construction documents, understanding building codes in the pipe trades, plumbing pipe cutting and joining, and plumbing layout and installation.
  • Industry-recognized training. The curriculum follows National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) guidelines and leads to possible Levels 1 through 4 certifications, a quality education that meets industry standards.
  • A schedule that works. Daytime classes Monday through Thursday leave room for work and family commitments.
  • Help paying for it. Financial assistance is available for those who qualify, with special consideration for veterans. The Workforce Recovery Training Program Grant (WRTP) is available for tuition, fees, and books through the fall 2026 semester.

How to Get Started

  • Apply to Chipola. Submit your free online application to get started.
  • Complete the TABE. Take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) within the first six weeks of the program; a passing score is required to exit the program unless a state-approved waiver applies.
  • Line up funding. Ask the Financial Aid Office and the Grants Office what you qualify for before classes begin.
