Show American development following the Civil War from the western movement, through the World Wars, and the struggles in the 21st Century. Compare the differences and similarities in the cultures of Africans, Indians, and Europeans that sometimes cause conflicts when the cultures met in America. Analyze the presidential and congressional plans for reconstruction and evaluate the effectiveness of the plans in solving the problems of reconstruction. Evaluate the role of America in world domination and the effects of its foreign policy od expansionism. Evaluate America’s role in the two world wars and analyze the outcomes on contemporary issues. |

Means of accomplishing learning outcomes:
- Students are expected to attend class, read assigned materials and are encouraged to ask questions.
- Student attendance and participation is expected.
- Student are expected to read all assigned material and complete assignments in a timely manner.
- Faculty will be delivering course content through lectures and class discussions on the material using visual aids or through the learning management system in online classes.
- In-class teaching strategies may include: participation, lecture, presentations, and examinations.
- Faculty will arrange office appointments to address student’s questions and progress.
- Faculty will encourage students to use the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE Lab) to foster their attainment of subject matter.
