Course Description:
An introductory drawing course designed to provide basic drawing skills. Emphasis on perspective, media, technique, and style. Six hours lecture and studio per week.

Means of accomplishing learning outcomes:

The instructor will provide an introductory drawing course designed to provide basic drawing skills via a combination of lecture, hands-on creation, out-of-class assignments, and exhibition opportunities. Projects will be assigned and concepts will be explained in class. The instructor will monitor individual progress, and group collaboration will be a feature of each class period. Students will analyze and critique personal and peer artworks. The instructor will hold weekly office hours to address further questions and student needs outside of class time. The final grade will be based on class participation, homework, assignments, creative projects including a final project with artist statement.

Students are expected to:

  • Arrive to class on time
  • Turn in assignments on time
  • Participate in discussions and be focused in class
  • Complete all out-of-class assignments, quizzes, and projects
