Course Description:
This introductory course will assist students in conceptualizing both the basic research process and the importance of research to nursing and will enable students to understand and use published healthcare research.

Means of accomplishing learning outcomes:

Online lectures, online discussions, projects, selected readings, online documents, audio-visuals, portfolios, and/or computer lab. Assessment of evidence-based research through a proctored assignment (research paper) along with a critique of a quantitative research article and a qualitative research article.

 

Alternate Grading Scale

This course uses an alternate grading system that differs from the college-wide grading scale. The following scale indicates a student's standing in the course:
A – 90 – 100
B – 80 – 89
C – 75 – 79
D – 60 – 74
F – 59 or less
