Course Description:
This course is an introduction to current healthcare delivery systems on local, regional, national, and global levels. Concepts of managed care, case management, reimbursement, legal/ethical risk management, quality outcomes, diversity and complexity of population at risk, and conservation of resources are emphasized.

Means of accomplishing learning outcomes:

The instructor will assign and provide feedback on the following assignments, which are based on the reading assignments from the textbook: discussions, Timeline assignment, PowerPoint presentation, a Go Live Plan, and a formal paper.

This course uses an alternate grading system that differs from the college-wide grading scale. The following scale indicates a student's standing in the course:
A – 90 – 100
B – 80 – 89
C – 75 – 79
D – 60 – 74
F – 59 or less
