Chipola College to Host “Career Connect” Event with Industry Partners

Chipola College will host Chipola Career Connect on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Student Life Center.

This targeted career networking event will connect Chipola students with representatives from the Florida Department of Transportation and Eastern Shipbuilding—two leading employers offering a variety of career and internship opportunities.  Students who attend this event will have the opportunity to engage directly with representatives from different departments at these partner employers, learn about career pathways, and explore both immediate job openings and future employment opportunities.

Participating employers are seeking candidates for a wide range of fields, including Financial Services, Planning and Environmental, Maintenance, Construction, Welding, Information Technology, and more. Opportunities are available for both full-time career positions and “Future Professional” roles designed specifically for currently enrolled students looking to gain valuable real-world experience.

“Chipola Career Connect is about more than just jobs—it’s about creating pathways for our students to transition successfully from education into the workforce,” said Bonnie Smith, Chipola’s AVP of Student Affairs. “By partnering with employers who are invested in our students’ success, we’re helping open doors to meaningful careers.”

Students are encouraged to bring a resume, but it is not required. The event is open to all Chipola students interested in gaining experience, making connections, and exploring career options.

Chipola College continues to expand partnerships with industry leaders to provide students with hands-on opportunities that support the college’s mission of Changing Lives & Creating Futures.
