Course Description:
This course provides dual-enrollment (DE) students with information necessary for successful adjustment to college life, college academics, and college services. Students will be exposed to campus resources that will provide critical assistance when needed. Providing high school students a firm foundation as they begin their college career, this course is designed to assist DE students in navigating the college environment. Attention is given to continued eligibility requirements, effective communication strategies, essential campus resources, college academic pathways, and college success skills.

Means of accomplishing learning outcomes:

The course will consist primarily of lectures and interactive discussion in the classroom. There will be handouts including, but not limited to, the Chipola College Catalog, the Chipola College Handbook/Planner, Academic Advising Plans, and the Dual-Enrollment Handbook. These and other handouts will be used to support discussions on various topics pertaining to Dual Enrollment and Chipola College. Students are expected to attend lecture sessions and to read and interact with course resources.
