Chipola wants your visit to the library to be successful and enjoyable. We encourage you to become familiar with the policies and procedures of our library and to let us assist you in your academic and life-long learning endeavors.
About the Library
The Library is a comprehensive learning resource center and an integral part of the college’s instructional program. Its print, electronic, and multimedia materials support the course offerings of the college and the professional and personal growth of students, faculty, administration, and staff. The Library is open 50 hours a week.
Library staff provide class and individual library literacy instruction with orientations, reference and research support, and course reserve materials. The Library offers audiovisual viewing, a photocopy machine, study rooms, and study areas.
There are 14 computer stations on the main level of the library and 30 computer stations in the Technology Center (Tech Center), plus 6 computers reserved for Honorlock testing.
Students must present a current photo ID.
Study rooms
Study rooms are available to student groups on both the main floor and the second level.
Technology Center
The Information Technology Center on the second level of the Library is equipped with 30 workstations, available exclusively for Chipola College students. The Technology Center is now talk friendly.
Honorlock exams
The library has 6 computers designated for testing with Honorlock. These computers have webcams and are in private locations. See library staff for assistance.
Photocopier and scanner
A photocopier is located on the main level of the library. Copies are 10 cents each. Scanning a document to an e-mail address is free.
Course reserves
The Library provides short-term check-out or in-house use of special study materials provided by instructors.
Search the local and statewide library catalog
The library’s in-house collection includes books, audiovisual materials, and periodical subscriptions. Beyond that, students have access to the statewide online library catalog and e-resources system.
The Florida Library Services division of the Florida Virtual Campus (FLVC) operates the integrated library system used by every public college and university library in Florida. This centralized, fully automated ILS gives all public postsecondary students, faculty, and staff access to more than 38 million e-resources and 1.5 million digital archive items.
