Means of accomplishing learning outcomes:

Lecture is the primary method of instruction. Students are expected to be attentive and are encouraged to ask questions. Lectures will come primarily from the textbook in formats that may include power point presentations, white board illustrations, videos, and web-based technologies. Laboratory activities are designed to correlate with the lecture material to aid in student understanding. Homework assignments, including the web-based Mastering Biology, are required. Projects, that vary in content from semester to semester, are also utilized to expand student knowledge and understanding of the course material.
