Chipola College Announces “Camp Shakespeare” Summer Program for Youth

Chipola College Theatre will host “Camp Shakespeare,” a weeklong summer program for students ages 8–13, from July 27–31, 2026. The camp will run Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with a final performance scheduled for Friday at 2:00 p.m.
The program is designed to spark imagination, build confidence, and introduce young participants to the fundamentals of theatre. Campers will engage in acting, stage combat, movement and dance, voice training, and technical theatre, along with simple costuming. Instruction will be provided in small groups by experienced theatre educators.
Participants will explore William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, focusing on its age-appropriate themes and characters, including the story of four young lovers navigating a magical forest inhabited by fairies such as King Oberon, Queen Titania, and Puck.
The cost is $120 for the first child and $80 for each additional child. The fee includes instruction, a costume, daily snacks, and a camp T-shirt. All experience levels are welcome.
Space is limited. Registration is available at www.chipola.edu/boxoffice.
