Chipola College Participates in Emergency Response Training Exercise

Chipola College joined local emergency response agencies and community partners in a full-scale emergency response training exercise at Marianna K-8 School to strengthen coordination, communication and preparedness during complex emergency situations.

Coordinated by Jackson County Emergency Management, the exercise gave first responders and partner agencies the opportunity to practice working together, evaluate response procedures and enhance emergency preparedness.

“Chipola College was proud to participate alongside our community partners in this important training exercise,” said Meri Mock, Public Information Officer.

Participating organizations included local law enforcement, fire rescue and EMS agencies, the Jackson County School Board, the Florida Department of Health in Jackson County, Jackson Hospital, the American Red Cross, Chipola College and numerous student and community volunteers.

The exercise featured realistic emergency scenarios using special effects makeup to simulate injuries. No actual injuries occurred during the training.
